I have been exploring the figure in my last few paintings. Definitely I am not attempting to have one painting style. Instead an exploratory of abstraction, conceptual, opposites, exploring new concepts in rhythm and motion while developing dexterity with the painting knife.

Choices, 24 x 36 inches, Is a painting I have been repainting then repainting again and again for awhile. I usually paint and leave it. For some reason this painting kept calling me back. I think I am done… maybe.

My Beach, 24 x 44 inches, should be noted as the tightest, completely painted with a painting knife. I loved the contrast between the beautiful, young soft woman contrasting the rough, rusty canisters and pipes.

Three Bathers, 24 x 44 inches, I had fun with breaking the image to see how far I could go with it, create a visual space and rhythm amongst the bathers. What did I need to leave in and what could I do away with. I entered this in the ViewPoint46, 2014 exhibit and was selected for the juried show of the Cincinnati Art Club.
