I keep tweaking, reinventing everything I do when it comes to painting, conceptualizing and creating new artistic direction for my lives work.

Some times I move two steps forward, sometimes I take one step backwards, but I am constantly moving towards a goal. And even a bad target is better than no target at all.

Visiting the galleries that exhibit your work, listening to customer feed back can help you reorganize your thoughts and help create a profound direction for your paintings.

Maybe there is a better way for you to organize your paintings on the web. Maybe you don’t need to show everything. Maybe you take your painting even more serious to take it to the next level.

Do what ever it takes to constantly rediscover what you are doing in your painting life. Don’t work in a vacuum. Get outside input from painters and non-painters. One gallery owner helped me to see some things in my paintings in a way I had not seen them before.

I created my own art group of more experienced painters so I could get some more professional feedback and develop some accountability to some fellow artist. Hey it worked for the Impressionist painters. Maybe it will work for me.

You can take a class. Join a group of plein air painters. Visit some museums. Take a trip. Open up and share experiences, good and bad. Expand. It all adds up to a better artistic experience. It is up to you. Figure it out. Then paint and don’t stop for years on end.
