The Barber
Original Oil painting

There was completely no drudgery in creating the perfect painting here. No stuck-to process or formula. It was a playground of paint from start to finish. This keeps me engaged as an oil painter.
I use M. Graham Oil Paints, I feel they are much healthier for me and the environment. No toxic fumes, turps, or headaches.
I did a lot of experimentation with this painting. Abstract, but keeping it real with luminous light, changing focuses, while working the painting as a whole. I was very happy with how the abstract barber’s personality came through perfectly.
I am thinking this painting may fall into categories like American Impressionism or abstract expressionism.
