On the way back from a paint out I came across this fiddler at a gas station that struck me as, paint me. I ended up doing a study before this final 48 x 42 inch final painting. I  exaggerated the fiddlers gesture and added the coke machine to the original finding. Lighting and tones where adjusted to fit the emotion of the painting. Most finds are never complete by themselves. They take our personal touch to make them ours. This is a good example of Sensationalism.

The Fiddler

The Fiddler, 48 x 42 inches, oil on panel

The expression was coined by Andy Warhol, who said in 1968 that “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” What struck me was the fiddler looked like he had found his moment and was an island onto himself.
